More than thirty fellowships for early to mid-career researchers will be awarded at Health Data Research UK, the UK’s newest data science institute. Investing in future international leaders in research, the fellowships will link to the UK’s Industrial Strategy through the development and application of novel analytical approaches.
Rutherford Fund Fellowships will be awarded to non-UK individuals, whilst awards to UK nationals will be known as UKRI Innovation Fellowships.
The funding is part of the Medical Research Council’s commitment to support post-doctoral fellowships for Health Data Research UK. As part of a £12m package of support to build a critical mass of interdisciplinary skills, the MRC is funding the recipients’ salaries for three years as well as running costs, allowing successful fellows to establish their careers as independent scientists in one of several universities’ research units in health data research.
Candidates should have completed a PhD and have a clear understanding of how the Fellowship will help them to achieve their goals. They will join a vibrant multidisciplinary peer network at HDR UK and will have access to training programmes to promote rapid growth in skills.
