Health services research can address many issues in healthcare and can improve the efficiency of the patient journey and improve patient experiences. In addition to enhancing quality and delivery of care, research in this field can have a positive impact on how health and care systems function and are managed.

Researchers at The Farr Institute worked with large-scale primary and secondary care databases to investigate important health care issues such as the effects of incentives on quality of care, the utilisation of cancer screening and the care of people with severe mental illnesses.
